Where to download FET

FET is free timetabling software. Download it only from its official website. Then import your .fet file here to check, view and share the timetable.

FET Viewer does not offer FET for download. FET and FET Viewer are two different products. FET makes the timetable. FET Viewer reads the file that FET saves.

Download FET from the official website

⚠ Download FET only from its official website. A copy on another website can be old or changed.

The official download page is lalescu.ro/liviu/fet/download.html. It always lists the newest version. FET is free.

Which file to choose

  • Windows 10 or later, 64-bit: the executable for Windows 10 or later. The FET website recommends it.
  • Windows 7 or 8.1: the executable for older Windows. It is slower.
  • macOS: the executable for macOS. Read the instructions on the linked page first.
  • GNU/Linux, 64-bit: the executable for GNU/Linux.

The same page also has the source code, if you want to compile FET yourself.

After you install FET

  1. Enter your teachers, student groups, rooms and rules in FET.
  2. Save the file. FET saves a .fet file.
  3. Check the file before FET generates the timetable. The FET helper is free and needs no account. It finds the rules that make your timetable impossible.
  4. Let FET generate the timetable.
  5. Import the .fet file here. Then you can view, print and share the timetable. See Uploading a FET file.
