Share-link limits
How many private links you can have, why the count is per timetable, and what happens when you reach it.
Public read-only links are not limited. Private links — the ones carrying a level and a scope — are, and how many you get depends on your plan.
The count is per timetable
This is the part that surprises people, so it is worth stating on its own:
Your private-link allowance applies to each timetable separately, not to your account as a whole.
Reaching the limit on this year's timetable does not consume anything on another one. Equally, having spare capacity elsewhere does not help you here — each timetable has its own allowance, and they do not pool.
When you generate links, the Generate dialog shows how much of this timetable's allowance you have used.
Private links are a paid feature
On the free plan the private-link allowance is zero: you can share a timetable read-only, and that works fully, but the levels that let someone contribute need a paid plan. Paid plans raise the allowance, and the top of the range lifts it entirely.
Some plans do not count teacher links
A teacher link gives one named teacher their own view. It can also let that teacher set their own availability.
Some plans do not count a link that is for exactly one teacher. On the Access links screen, those levels show "free when it's for one teacher". Every other private link still counts: a link for the whole timetable, for a student group, a room or a subject, a link for two or more teachers, and every Custom link. On the other plans, every private link counts. The plans page names the two kinds separately.
⚠ Your staff list bounds the teacher links instead: one of each kind per teacher. A school with 60 teachers can give all 60 a link of their own.
What happens at the limit

Nothing breaks and nothing is quietly discarded.
Creating a link when you are at the limit tells you so and does not create it. Your existing links keep working — no oldest link is dropped to make room.
Generating a batch is handled the same way, but up front: the dialog counts what it can create against what you selected, warns you how many will not fit, and labels its button with the number it will actually make. You see the shortfall before you commit, not afterwards in a list that is shorter than you expected.
Getting more room
Three options, in the order worth trying them:
- Delete links you no longer use. This frees space only for links that count toward the allowance.
- Widen a scope instead of adding links. Several people who need the same view can share one link — the allowance counts links, not recipients.
- Upgrade the plan. Current allowances per plan are on the plans page.
Where to go next
- The permission ladder — one wider link is often better than several narrow ones.
- Creating and sending links
